Emily & Aubrey’s intimate vow renewal in NYC

Wedding

Emily reached out to me early this year and asked if I’d be interested in flying out to NYC to shoot her 10 year vow renewal! And I would have been INSANE had I said no! I knew this was the opportunity of a lifetime and I couldn’t wait to take it. I knew from the start that our visions were lining up which made me even more excited to be a part of their special day! These two were seeking fun, unique, and spontaneous photos that could last a life. And the best part- they brought their family along to witness it all and to be a part of the fun. It’s so evident that aside from one another, family is everything to these two. Take a scroll through the day with the O’Neals.

We began at the hotel for some getting ready shots. If I wanted to be crammed into 1 tiny NYC room with anyone, it would be them. @Makeupbykatrinanyc glammed the girls up and was sooo sweet!

After everyone was ready, we moved onto some finishing touches and spent a few intimate moments with Emily and Aubrey before heading out the door.

I can honestly say now that since I’ve shot a “wedding” in NYC, that I can shoot one anywhere! It was super chaotic trying to get the right shots in the busy street, but I love that imperfection in some of the shots I got. They really just showed the character that everyone loves about the city.

After running around Times Square, it was off to Central Park to renew vows. We had to remake some taxi photos that they took 10 years ago!

Emily and Aubrey chose to renew their vows alongside their children, on the same bridge that they said “I do” 10 years ago. It’s so evident how they all love one another so much! Family is everything to this crew.

Fun fact- Aubreys ring finger was actually broken and super swollen but she was determined to still get her new ring on! And she did!

The next group of photos are some of my favorite. Quite a few tears were shed during this sequence of pictures because their just so happened to be a violinist playing one of Aubreys favorite songs. We took a few moments to let them dance and just spend some time wrapped up together.

Happy tears were shed that day.

After wrapping up Central Park, it was time for a drink and to run around the subway! I got to use a lot of direct flash (my favorite) and I think these two felt refreshed and ready for the next photo round after their outfit change!

I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to capture this day for Emily and Aubrey. They took a chance on me and I’m forever thankful. I was once just a 19 year old kid with a dream. I wish I could go back and tell her that she’s gonna make it.

We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to spend the day with us and capture it so well. You nailed every shot and made it such a comfortable and fun. We are forever in awe of these pics and can’t wait to blow them up and frame them for the house. Thank you so much!
